upgrade to framework 4

Hi,

We are using the pubsub library for 3 years now and it's very helpful.

I was wondering if you plan to upgrade the code to use the SharedMemory functions in .net 4 instead of the SharedMemoryMgr.dll ?

Thanks,

I don't have any plans on moving from native code to managed code for accessing shared memory. One reason is because I have some native applications which interface with the current native implementation. I haven't looked at the .Net 4 shared memory methods implementation so I can't say for sure but my guess is the interop cost would be orders of magnitude more overhead and affect performance. I'm assuming each access of shared memory will cost an interop. Because each get or put results in many accesses of the shared memory, this would affect performance and possibly increase the amount of garbage collection.
